Project Everest

Risk is the potential that a chosen action or activity (including the choice of inaction) will lead to a loss or an undesirable outcome.

In April of 2011, Cisco System's Brian Dickinson embarked on an epic journey to Everest. Brian's goal was to climb Mt. Everest in his quest to climb the Seven Summits, a feat only 245 people have ever done. Having already defeated Mt. McKinley, Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Elbrus, Mt. Everest is Brian's highest climb yet.

Brian reached the summit of Everest on May 15 alone after his Sherpa had to turn around due to illness. What happened next was unexpected. Brian had to fight for his life to reach safety after having sat on top of the world.

Listen to Brian share the story of his grueling physical and emotional voyage as recorded on the Webex broadcast on June 8th, 2011.
